Center Staff
Director
Dr. Corey Young
Corey Young is the Director of the Center for Energy and the Built Environment. Before coming to the Center, Corey worked as the Director of Grants and Planning for a transit provider in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Throughout his tenure, the Center has expanded its reach in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and grown its on-campus programming. Corey holds a master's degree in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University and a doctorate in Public Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Associate Director
Max Clark
Max Clark serves as Associate Director of the Center for Energy and the Built Environment, where he supports the Center’s partnerships, applied research, external engagement, and strategic initiatives. Max previously worked with University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Sustainable Business. His work has focused on applied research, executive education, outreach, organizational resilience, sustainability, and strategic change. He holds an M.A. in Public Affairs from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a LEED AP O+M.
Program Manager/Policy Analyst
Linda Ritzer
Linda Ritzer joined the Center in 2019 and currently works as a policy analyst across a range of energy and built environment topics. Before joining what is now the Center for Energy and the Built Environment, Linda was an editor and writer at a Western Pennsylvania newspaper. She holds a B.S. in journalism and economics from West Virginia University and several energy certifications, including LEED Green Associate.
