Impact Fee Payments to Rise in 2025
A recent Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office report gave an early Christmas gift to counties and municipalities across the state, forecasting that impact fees paid by unconventional natural gas well drillers will rise by 46% in 2025. The IFO recently released its 2025 impact fee estimate , which projects that $240 million will be collected, up substantially from last year’s total of $164.4 million. Strong Natural Gas Production Continues in Pa.
Natural gas production in Pennsylvania continued to show strong 2025 results, as a recent Independent Fiscal Office report showed an increase in both the amount produced and new wells drilled. PJM Market Monitor Wants Data Center Connection Restraint
The independent market monitor for PJM has filed a complaint with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asking it to require the regional grid operator to add large data centers only when they can reliably be served. LNG Exports Surging in U.S., Globally
A wave of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity will result in major changes to global gas markets, a new analysis indicates. CEPM Releases National Energy Literacy Survey Results
Just one in three Americans are confident they can explain how data centers impact the nation’s energy demand, a recent survey conducted by the Center for Energy Policy and Management at Washington & Jefferson College found.
