Corey Young, executive director of W&J College’s Center for Energy and the Built Environment, was recently honored as one of “20 People to Know in Energy” by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Dr. Young has led the newly renamed center, which was formerly the Center for Energy Policy and Management, since 2016. He is a 2011 W&J graduate who went on to earn a master’s degree from Clemson University and a Ph.D. from West Chester University in public administration.
“I’m grateful for the recognition by the Pittsburgh Business Times. I’m also so thankful for the support I receive in the Center, from my colleagues and students at W&J to our external partners in the region,” he said.
The Business Times compiled the list that includes influential individuals in energy-related fields. The article introduces readers to key leaders, behind the scenes players, and up and comers who are playing a role in powering the region’s energy future.
Dr. Young heads W&J’s center, which since its founding in 2012 has provided trusted energy information, education, and outreach to local communities. That work is now expanding into a forward-looking vision that reaches beyond energy production and policy to encompass the full spectrum of the built environment and its intersection with energy issues.
For 14 years, the center has provided trusted energy information, education, and outreach to local communities. That work now expands into a forward-looking vision that reaches beyond energy production and policy to encompass the full spectrum of the built environment. Local community leaders seeking guidance on integrating energy and community goals can use the center as a value-added resource. In addition, the center will continue to provide educational programming to the public and its work with W&J students on energy research and in other interdisciplinary fields.
