CEBE to Present “Getting the Most from Your Building” Webinar

The Washington & Jefferson College Center for Energy and the Built Environment will host a free June 24 webinar on using building commissioning to increase energy efficiency and comfort as part of its Energy Lecture Series.

“Getting the Most from Your Building: Smart Assessment and Monitoring” will be presented at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24. The speaker will be Jim Armstrong, Business Development Manager, Energy Services Northeast, at Siemens Smart Infrastructure

Building commissioning (Cx) is a professional practice that facilitates the planning, design, construction, installation, and testing of facilities and systems to verify and document that they operate to project specifications and lower energy costs. Building commissioning involves specific phases and activities for both new construction and existing buildings.

Siemens is a global operating company that connects energy systems, buildings, and industries to create sustainable, energy-efficient, and comfortable environments. The Siemens Smart Infrastructure group offers solutions to make existing buildings more efficient and comfortable through a process that involves smart assessment of building systems, optimization of those systems and equipment, documentation of performance, and ongoing monitoring. These projects can produce energy savings between 10% and 20% and typically pay for themselves in one to three years.

The hour-long webinar is free and open to the public. To register, visit wjenergy.org or CLICK HERE. The seminar is approved for Continuing Legal Education in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. Contact the Washington County Bar Association at wcba@washcobar.org for information.
